DENISE GORDON
ABOUT ME
Hello, I'm Denise
I am a native Cincinnatian born in December one of the freezing cold months of the year, but to have a warm heart towards humanity is my daily goal. My life is embraced by three important facets of life's triangle which are; Work: Loyalty, Play: Light-heartedness, and Worship: Love.
Work: Loyalty
I am a graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Design from the College of Design, Art Architecture, and Planning. My calling and profession is teaching. I am a Visual Arts teacher in Cincinnati Public Schools. How blessed I am to have a job that nurtures the minds of the world's future architects, designers, and engineers.
Play: Light-hearted
Exploring the arts, shopping for unique fabrics, designing and tailoring fashions for all occasions is what I enjoy doing in my leisure time. Other pleasurable moments that I relish most is treasure hunting for gems and pearls of wisdom while reading the Holy Bible. I find reading the Holy Bible even more fulfilling than the unique valuables found on my antique, and thrift excursions.
As a writer I have authored the book “Lessons We Learn from Ruth”subtitled,"Dating, Sex, and the Contemporary Christian Woman. I plan to pursue my interest in writing in the area of Christian Inspiration. I love to doodle! Doodling sketches conscientiously and sub conscientiouly led me to start my Christian blog entitled “Sketches with a Message” http://sketcheswithamessage.blogspot.com.
Worship: Loving
Worship for me includes doing the work of an evangelist, helping to build the work of the Lord by doing whatever my hands find to do. I came to know Christ at ten years of age, received the baptism of the Holy Spirit in my teenage years, fell in love with Jesus Christ and have never looked back. Accepted the call to ministry in 1982 and take pleasure in serving in the following ministries: volunteer Chaplin for a local juvenile training facility, team member of the Healing Rooms of Cincinnati-North, Inspirational Reads Book Club Coordinator, Bible teaching and preaching. The mantra of all times for me is borrowed from the words from the Song of Solomon 3:4 ” I found him whom my soul loveth: I held him, and would not let him go…”
