A Rope of Hope
Day in and day out we encounter people who look brave and sound intelligent but if the truth be told they are hanging on to life by a thin thread and silently screaming inwardly for a lifeline to escape from a difficult situation.
The only way to detect the silent cry of a person who is in need of a lifeline is to listen intently to his or her voice, tone and diction, listen to that person’s body language. Listening with an open heart of empathy will help you to discern the direction in which to toss a rope of hope.
The strands that strengthen the expectation and desire for a person who is drowning in life, is by showing them mercy, patience, and the love of God. After all as expressed in Jeremiah 31:2-4 ...Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.
God is Love and love is of God. 1 John 4:16b Help to rescue someone today by throwing out the Lifeline of Love which is the Rope of Hope.
Hymn: Love Lifted Me
I was sinking deep in sin, Far from the peaceful shore, Very deeply stained within, Sinking to rise no more; But the Master of the sea Heard my despairing cry, From the waters lifted me, Now safe am I. Love lifted me!
